Jazz City

Set in 1971, the story centers around a newly established Jazz Club in the heart of Kolkata’s Park Street. While the club serves as a hub for Western music and “club culture,” it acts as a secret catalyst for rebellion and resistance. The narrative follows how music and the nightlife scene became entangled with the intelligence operations and the revolutionary movement during the Bangladesh War of Independence. It explores the question: “How did it all begin?”—tracing the origins of resistance movements that helped liberate East Pakistan.
