
Additional Inspector General of Police (Crime & Ops) Khandaker Rafiqul Islam said that the law enforcement agencies do not have any information about the whereabouts of Faisal Karim Masud, the main accused in the murder case of Shaheed Sharif Osman Bin Hadi, convener of Inqilab Mancha. He said, there is no specific information about whether Faisal Karim has crossed the border of Bangladesh or is in the country. But the investigating officers are trying their best. Various information is available about the culprit.
This information was given by Additional IGP Rafiqul Islam in a press conference in the meeting room of the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Secretariat on Sunday afternoon. The press conference was organized at 5:30 PM to inform about the progress of Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2 and the overall law and order situation in the country.
Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury usually conducts such press conferences of the Ministry of Home Affairs. However, in today’s press conference, Home Secretary Nasimul Ghani, Adviser on Home Affairs, was not present.
Inqilab Mancha yesterday gave 24 hours to Home Affairs Adviser and Special Assistant to Chief Adviser Khoda Bakhsh Chowdhury to report progress on arresting the killers of Sharif Osman Bin Hadi. If they do not respond within this time, the organization demands their resignation.

There the representatives of Police, RAB, DB, and BGB told the progress of the Osman Hadi murder case. Mostafizur Rahman and DMP Additional Commissioner (Crime & Operations) S N Md. Nazrul Islam was present.
Additional Commissioner (Detective) Shafiqul Islam of DMP said that they do not have any specific information about the main accused in the Osman Hadi murder case. Various types of information are coming from different places. However, there is no information about whether the accused is in the country or has left the country. When asked what the reason was for this murder, he said that an investigation is going on, and it is not yet known. So far 10 people have been arrested in this murder case. But not personal reasons, but maybe political reasons.
DB official Shafiqul said in response to a question that a media worker posted the picture of the main accused on social media and said that he had gone to a neighboring country. However, it could not be confirmed that he gave this picture from India.
Additionally, IGP Rafiqul Islam said in response to the question whether he saw the failure of law and order forces in this incident, the Police, RAB, DB, and BGB are all trying. When an incident occurs, sometimes the accused is caught quickly, sometimes it is delayed. Efforts are being made to get the accused out by giving utmost importance to the public demand.
In response to a question about the spread of misleading information about Faisal Karim, this police officer said that they are verifying the information. Taking action against those who are spreading rumours, is in mind. In response to the question whether the accused has a political affiliation or not, he said that the investigation is going on.
Sector Commander of BGB Mymensingh Sector Colonel Sarkar Md. Mostafizur Rahman said, Philip is the name of the person whose name has come up again and again as the trafficker of the suspects in the murder case. There is information that he is involved in human trafficking.
This BGB official said, “Basically we have deployed all our forces to catch Philip. It is still ongoing. We are conducting various intelligence operations. We are using all kinds of tools to arrest him.”

Investigating officials had earlier said that they believed Faisal Karim had crossed the border into India.
