Shihab Shaheen’s ‘Cactus’ web series centered around Eid al-Fitr. The shooting of the series has already been completed. It stars Pritom Hasan and Mehazabien Chowdhury in lead roles. The teaser was released on Wednesday (March 4). It is being developed for the OTT platform Chorki.
Pritom Hasan will be seen in the role of a hacker named ‘Manasiv’ in the series. The teaser also features him as an inmate—a terrifying cyber genius. However, in a special situation, he had to enter the field of hacking again from prison. With the help of the government, his intellect became the greatest weapon in dealing with a national crisis.
Pritom Hasan said about the character, “I don’t want to say much about the character. But it is true that the character has a journey. I hope the audience will join that journey with me. Even though Manisov is a hacker, his work has a purpose.
Manasiv meets ‘Anura’ in this expedition. Mehzabeen Chowdhury played this role. The teaser shows Mehzabeen in a new avatar — in action looks and action scenes. He said, ‘My character is very interesting. Gave many opportunities to learn new things, one of which is action. I have never done this level of action before. Action Director Mr. Edward and his team were fantastic. The aspect inspired me from the first time I heard the script, it was really interesting to be honest.’
The teaser hints at giving a different experience in ‘Cactus’ with technology, thrill, and action. The producer said, ‘Watching the teaser, the audience may understand that this time’s shooting is not ordinary, it is quite challenging. Even more challenging is the story. The scope of the story is much bigger than what the teaser suggests.
