The court has sentenced a person to life imprisonment and sentenced a man named Safiqul Islam Safi (46) to kill the mother of three children in Panchagarh Boda upazila in the wake of the alien.
The court judge Kamruzzaman issued the order on Monday (June 2) at noon.
The convicted Safiqul Islam is the son of Hamed Ali of Kajaldighi Tharajipara area of Panchagarh Boda upazila.
Meanwhile, the court has acquitted 10 accused as the involvement of the incident has not been proved.
According to the case sources, after marriage, Shafiqul Islam got involved with a neighboring woman about the alien. It begins with a bridal dispute. Although there were multiple shalis on the matter, Mumtaz continued to torture. Husband Saphikul used to beat her unnecessarily. On the night of July 8, 2015, there was a quarrel between them, and the husband and her family threatened to kill Mumtaz. On July 9, locals informed the police that Mumtaz’s body was lying in his house. Police recovered the body and sent it to the autopsy and a case was filed at Boda police station. On July 14, 11 people were accused of murdering the murder of the deceased housewife Mumtaz’s father Abdul Mannan. The investigating officer of the case filed the chargesheet in the court on January 31, 2018.
The court announced the verdict in the presence of the accused on Monday after taking the long judicial process and testimony of witnesses. The plaintiff expressed satisfaction in the verdict.
Yasinul Haque Dulal, Additional PP of the Panchagarh court, said that the body of Victim’s body was told to kill him in a breathlessness. We have been able to prove the allegations undoubtedly. Therefore, the court has sentenced the accused to life imprisonment and fined Tk 50,000. The other accused have been acquitted.
