Central leader of the National Citizen Party (NCP) and organizer of National Sramik Shakti, Motaleb Shikdar was seriously injured in a firing by miscreants in the Sonadanga area of Khulna metropolis. Today Monday (22 December) around 11:15 AM, the attack took place in the area adjacent to Gazi Medical College in Sonadanga Residential Area.
According to local sources, Motaleb Shikdar was passing through Sonadanga Residential Area at approximately 11:15 AM on Monday. At that time, the miscreants who were there shot at him and ran away. The sound of gunshots spread panic in the area and passers-by rescued him and rushed him to the hospital.
The injured Motaleb Shikdar is currently undergoing treatment at Khulna Medical College Hospital.
According to hospital sources, he has been admitted to Units 9 and 10 of the Surgery Department. Doctors are monitoring his physical condition.
Shot dead Motaleb Shikdar is a member of NCP’s Central Convener Committee and in charge of Khulna Divisional Organizer. He is also known as an important leader of National Sramik Shakti.
Immediately after the incident, the police of Sonadanga Police Station visited the spot.
However, who is behind this attack, or what is the purpose of this attack? No official statement from the police was immediately available on the matter. It is said that the operation to identify and arrest the attackers has started.
