Students protested inside and outside the Bangladesh Secretariat on Tuesday, demanding the resignation of the education adviser. At one point, the law enforcers clashed with the law enforcement agencies and clashes. At that time, several cars were vandalized inside the secretariat. Police stick to the students and throw gas shells and sound grenades in tears. The army personnel also chased the students.
At least 75 students were injured in the incident from 2:30 to 6pm yesterday. They were given first aid at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. One was admitted to the hospital. Police and some army members were also injured in the incident.
Students from different areas of the capital started protesting in front of the Bangladesh Secretariat around 2:30 pm demanding the resignation of the education adviser and education secretary. After the slogan for more than an hour and a half, they opened the secretariat’s main site. At least 20 cars were vandalized there. Then the police and the soldiers chased them out. After that, the students started throwing bricks inside the secretariat for a long time. Then the conflict spread to the surrounding areas including Gulistan.
The previous day, on Monday, 31 people, including students, were killed in a warship of the Dhaka Milestone School & College Air Force. 150 people were injured. After the tragic incident, Tuesday’s HSC examination was postponed at around 3pm on Monday. Then the students were asleep. In the morning, the announcement arose among the examiners across the country. The Secretariat is one of the specially important establishments in the state (KPI). The secretariat, known as the center of the administration, mainly makes important administrative decisions. So the secretariat has additional security. When you get here, special passes are needed. But a large number of angry students entered the main entrance to the secretariat. Earlier, they gathered in front of the main gate and protested for a long time.

The students also tried to enter the Ministry of Agriculture, Law Ministry, and Information Ministry located in building 4. At that time, the students beat a policeman in front of the Ministry of Public Works. Later, several policemen chased and dispersed the students
In front of building number 7, another part of the students went to the Home Ministry. The cars and motorcycles were vandalized there. The members of the army stopped them there. Immediately after the main entrance of the secretariat, 100 policemen entered the students and attacked the students. At that time, the police started sticking to the students. Then the students started to run. At one point they were dispersed. They were then allowed to get out of the main entrance to the secretariat.
Multiple eyewitnesses told The Circle Buzz that the students had been trying to enter the secretariat for a long time. At one point, hundreds of students entered the law enforcement area. There was no situation to stop a large number of students.
Chased up to 1.5 hours
After the students were expelled from the secretariat, one part of them moved towards the education building, the other to Zero Point. In the meantime, those who move towards the education building, they are located at the intersection of 30 minutes and throw bricks at the police. At that time, the police tried to remove the students from the sound grenades and tear gas.
Then another part of the students took the road to Zero Point and closed the road and shouted slogans. When the police chased them around 4:30 pm, the students fired bricks at the police. Later, when the police sounded a grenade, the students were divided into three parts towards the Old Paltan part is on the southern entrance to the Baitul Mukarram, and the other part went to Golap Shah Mosque.
