Police have identified a suspect in the shooting of potential independent candidate Osman Hadi in the 13th National Parliamentary Election.
Police said that the person has been identified after analyzing the CCTV footage of the incident. DMP has requested everyone to provide information about him.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) informed this news in a press release today Saturday.
The notification said that the police are conducting an operation to find the attackers of Osman Hadi. Anyone with information about the identified person is requested to inform the Police.
The police have given three numbers to contact. These are 01320040080 (Motijheel Division Deputy Commissioner), 01320040132 (Paltan Police Station Officer-in-Charge), and 999 numbers. Police said that the identity of the informant will remain confidential.
Osman Hadi, convener of an organization called Inkilab Manch, was shot dead at Box Culvert Road in Purana Paltan of the capital on Friday afternoon, the day after the election details were announced. He was first treated at Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition. Later he was taken to Evercare Hospital in the capital.
It has been informed by Inkilab ManchOsman Hadi is not safe yet. Nothing can be confirmed about his physical condition for 48 hours.
