
A training aircraft of the Bangladesh Air Force crashed at the Milestone College building in the Uttara Diabari area of Dhaka. This tragic accident happened on Monday (July 21) around 1:10pm. It has been reported that two people were killed so far and at least 100 people were injured, most of whom were students.
The details of the accident
Training of an F-7 BGI model of Bangladesh Air Force, Jet, lost control during the training in the airspace, hitting the main building of Milestone College. With the explosion of loud noise, the fire broke fire in the section of the building and the extreme panic spread among the students.
Eyewitnesses said an aircraft came down in the form of fire from the sky and immediately a large explosion occurred. This created huge destruction on the college campus.
Condition
Authorities have confirmed that two students were killed in the accident. One of the casualties is eighth grade and the other is a third-grade student. Also, 50-130 students and college employees are admitted to various hospitals with burns and injuries.
The National Burn Institute, Kurmitola General Hospital, and UTTARA Modern Hospital are being treated.
Rescue
Eight units of the fire service quickly reached the scene and brought the fire under control. Air Force, RAB, police, and army jointly participated in the rescue work. Locals and parents of the students also came forward to transfer the injured.
State mourning
After the incident, the Prime Minister expressed deep condolences in a statement and ordered the burns to ensure maximum treatment. At the same time, a one-day state mourning has been announced nationwide on July 22 (Tuesday). The flag will be kept in all government offices.
Investigation Committee form
Bangladesh Air Force has formed a high-level inquiry committee to investigate the cause of the aircraft crash. Initially, it is believed that the aircraft lost control due to mechanical error. However, nothing can be said without a detailed investigation
