Police have arrested domestic worker Ayesha in connection with the murder of a mother and daughter in Mohammadpur of the capital.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Media and Public Relations Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed this information to The Circle Buzz at around 1:15 on Wednesday.
Talebur Rahman said domestic worker Ayesha was arrested in Jhalokathi by Mohammadpur Police Station.
On the other hand, Mohammadpur Region Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Jewel Rana told Prothom Alo, domestic worker Ayesha was arrested from Jhalakathi, Nalchity today around 12 noon. Details about the incident will be given after questioning him.
Police recovered the bloody bodies of mother and daughter from a house in Mohammadpur last Monday afternoon. They are Laila Afroze (48) and her daughter Nafisa Lawal Binte Aziz (15).

A case was filed in Mohammadpur Police Station on Monday night in the case of mother-daughter murder. Plaintiff A J M Azizul Islam — Laila’s husband, Nafisa’s father.
According to the lawsuit, the killing occurred sometime between 7:51 AM and 9:35 AM on Monday.
Police officers involved in the investigation say that this woman started working as a domestic worker in the house just four days before the murder. All four days she came and went to the house wearing a burqa, or covering her face.
The CCTV footage of the building shows that the domestic worker came home wearing a burqa on the day of the incident. And while leaving the house, he was wearing the deceased Nafisa’s school dress.
